Up for sale is an VERY NICE 1999 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop "R6" Custom Shop release. 

This is an early Historic Collection reissue, built during a period widely regarded as one of the strongest eras for Gibson Custom Shop quality. These late-’90s Historics are known for their exceptional craftsmanship, solid construction, and consistently great tone, and this example delivers on all fronts.

This particular Gibson Les Paul "R6" Goldtop is in overall EXCELLENT CONDITION. Has some minor play wear on the surface of the guitar. Some very faint surface scratches and dings on front/back/sides of guitar from standard playing. Has a small ding on right side of headstock from being on guitar stand. No effect on sound at all. Some light vintage surface checking has started forming on the surface of the Goldtop finish from natural aging. Looks super nice and the gives it a classic vintage touch. NO HEADSTOCK CRACK.

No abuse, no heavy wear, and nothing that detracts from the look or playability. Overall, it presents extremely well and would sit comfortably in both a player’s rig or a collection.

This R6 feels rock solid and built like an absolute TANK. The neck joint is tight, the body feels dense and resonant, and the guitar has that unmistakable old-school Les Paul heft. It’s the kind of guitar that feels substantial the moment you pick it up — no flex, no cheapness, just a serious instrument.

Unplugged, the guitar is loud, lively, and resonant, which is always a great sign. Plugged in, it absolutely comes alive.

The original P-90 pickups sound absolutely incredible... fat, punchy, and articulate with plenty of warmth and bite.

You get rich cleans, aggressive growl when pushed, and excellent note separation across the board. It responds beautifully to picking dynamics and cleans up effortlessly with the volume knob. This is classic ’50s-style Goldtop tone done right.
