Up for sale is an EXCELLENT CONDITION 2002 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop "R7" Custom Shop release. 

This guitar has been built in the early 2000's Gibson Custom Shop... a period widely regarded as one of the best eras Gibson has ever had. Early 2000s Custom Shop Gibsons are legendary for a reason: attention to detail, build consistency, and tone that actually lives up to the hype.

This Gibson R7 is in excellent overall condition, with only light signs of play—the kind you want to see on a 20+ year old instrument. No abuse, no hacks, no nonsense. It’s been played, enjoyed, and well cared for.

Has some minor play wear on the surface of the guitar. Some very faint surface scratches and dings on front/back/sides of guitar from standard playing. Some light vintage surface checking has started forming on the surface of the Goldtop finish from natural aging. Looks super nice and the gives it a classic vintage touch. NO HEADSTOCK CRACK.

The Goldtop finish still looks stunning, with that classic vintage glow that only gets better with age. The neck, frets, hardware, and electronics are all solid. This is a guitar that feels alive in your hands—not a case queen, but definitely not beat up either.

This guitar is all original, with the only modification being the pickup covers. The previous owner modded the covers to a flame-etched design cover just to give the guitar a unique flavor. Pretty hard to see the flame design in photos (even in person) - very subtle upgrade. Other than the pickup over, this guitar is ALL ORIGINAL.

The Gibson R7 Historic Collection is essentially Gibson’s modern re-creation of an actual 1957 Les Paul Goldtop... but built with superior modern tooling, consistency, and reliability. You get all the soul, weight, and feel of the original concept without the headaches (or six-figure price tag 😂).

Really incredible feeling neck TBH... This is the kind of neck you bond with. Substantial, but not a baseball bat unless you want it to be. It fills the hand perfectly and makes you play differently—in a good way. Really nice for standard chord grips across the fretboard. Makes soloing on the upper-registers very simple and fluid as well.

There’s a reason players and collectors actively hunt these R7 Custom Shops down... these guitars weren't built rushed. They were built by people who actually cared about the instrument.. and it truly shows.

This is a real player’s R7, not a museum piece. It’s already broken in, sounds phenomenal, and will only continue to get better with age. If you want a true Historic Les Paul experience without paying vintage prices, this is one of the smartest buys you can make.

Plug it in, hit a chord, and suddenly you understand why Goldtops never go out of style.
