Up for sale is a BEAUTIFUL Gibson ES-175D hollow body guitar in classic Tobacco Sunburst finish.

This Gibson instrument is in overall excellent vintage condition with some minor signs of visible surface wear. Some scratches/swirls on top/back/side of body from standard play and natural wear. Some oxidation on hardware (bridge, pickups) from natural aging. The wood has nicely opened up throughout the decades and some vintage checking is visible on the finish. Looks very nice and classy - especially when placed under a bright light setting.

Some dust on the headstock area, pickup/bridge area that can easily be wiped off. Missing pickguard but replacement can be easily found online on any guitar store. No effect on sound or playability. NO HEADSTOCK CRACK. NO ABUSE OR HARD PLAYING EVER.

The Gibson ES-175D is arguably one of the most legendary jazz guitars that Gibson has made in their lineup. Not only does the design look excellent, but the tonal quality is superb. Produces a very warm and bright tone that only few true hollow body guitars can produce. Pairs very nicely with any quality tube amp (Fender Princeton Reverb, Deluxe Reverb, Twin Reverb).

This guitar also takes pedals very well.. especially when paired with a reverb pedal or even an overdrive/distortion pedal. However, this ES-175D excels when played full natural with only the guitar and amp in my opinion.

The hardware has aged very well and naturally for a guitar that's over 35+ years old. The binding has aged from an original solid white to now a very beautiful vintage yellow/beige hue. Gives you a classic and elegant look that modern forced relic guitars can't truly replicate.

One of my favorite features of the Gibson ES-175D is the unique "SPLIT INLAYS" starting from the first fret. Very classy and interesting look that differentiates itself from other higher end Gibson guitars (normally they go for the Block inlays). The curved sharp Florentine cutaway also makes it very comfortable for players to play this guitar when sitting down.

This ES-175D just feels very solid in general. This includes the body, neck and tuners. Everything feels very solid and stable and high quality. Some of the best and highest quality Gibson guitars came out in the late 80's to 90's from my personal experience... and this guitar is no exception. The Neck feels very good on your hands especially when your gripping chords in the middle of the neck. I would say it's a vintage C style shape neck profile... not too thick but not to slim either.

Overall, this 1989 Gibson ES-175D is a pro-grade, full hollowbody jazz box with classic Gibson tonewoods, dual humbuckers, and that signature smooth, smoky tone. It's made for jazz but speaks fluently in blues and fusion too.
