Up for sale is a BEAUTIFUL Fender "George Harrison" Rosewood Telecaster Signature from Fender's Limited Artist series.
This specific Rosewood Telecaster was part of the last 100 units that Fender made out of 1000 George Harrison Telecasters (Unit # 909 out of 1000 made). Fender only released 1000 George Harrison Rosewood Telecasters during 2022 ONLY... However, Fender could not make all 1000 Telecasters at once due to the Global Rosewood Shortage (unfortunately becoming a legitimate issue now... also includes Ebony wood).
The first 600-700 or so units were sold out almost IMMEDIATELY upon release date... then the remaining 200+ish Rosewood Telecaster's were on backorder... for over 5+ months. Â
Because of this, Fender had to release this model in BATCHES... and this specific guitar was the final batch of the Rosewood Telecasters.
This George Harrison Tele is 1 OWNER ONLY + ALL FACTORY ORIGINAL + SHOWROOM CONDITION. Less than 1 hour of play TOTAL. Still has original plastic on pick guard.Â
Rosewood is already a beautiful choice of wood quality... however the Rosewood on this Telecaster looks EXCEPTIONALLY nice. Absolutely gorgeous Rosewood grains spread evenly all throughout the body + neck. NO HEADSTOCK CRACK. NO MODIFICATIONS.
The true beauty of this 2022 George Harrison Telecaster is the playability and feel... Fender basically mixed both vintage + modern specs to make the guitar look like Harrison's classic Rosewood Tele... But with modern specs to make it much easier and enjoyable to play.
For those who've played the original 1960's George Harrison All Rosewood Telecaster... It looks beautiful... but VERY HEAVY... and vintage smaller frets make playability a bit harder (especially when it comes to bending).
For this 2022 model, Fender decided to chamber the body for reduced weight (2 Rosewood + 1 thin Maple slab in middle). This makes this guitar MUCH easier to play and control... especially for those who Gig standing up wearing a guitar strap.
9.5" radius rosewood fretboard + neck... Slightly modified Modern-C shaped neck with tad bit of girth in the middle (very similar to some mid 60's + early 70's Telecasters). EXCELLENT SOUNDING Vintage American 64' Gray Bottom Single Coil Pickups. Probably one of the CLEANEST sounding pickups I've played on any Telecaster.
Very balanced tone for a 3 selector positions (Neck, Middle, Bridge). The bridge gives you the classic Tele "Twang"... the Neck gives you a very clean and smooth tone that's excellent for soloing. And the middle pickup blends both Bridge/Neck to give you the best of both worlds. Audiophiles + Tone Freaks will not be disappointed by the sound quality of this guitar AT ALL.
Custom "George Harrison" engraved Neck plate. Vintage 3 saddle style Tele bridge for excellent intonation. Very Simple "Fender" decal logo on headstock for overall clean look. Vintage style 60's/70's metal tuners with Fender logo engraved on the back.
Overall, this is just an absolutely BEAST of a guitar. Not only does it look beautiful.. but the playability of this Tele is on a different level. Fender clearly takes their Limited Artist Series models very seriously.. because this does not play or feel like any standard Fender release model.
The "George Harrison" aspect of this guitar just gives it that extra Beatles mystique + originality that no other Telecaster gives you... Many own a Fender Telecaster... but an ALL ROSEWOOD GEORGE HARRISON Telecaster??
Not many will have the opportunity to play.. let alone OWN this piece of Fender history.  Â

The Fender Rosewood Telecaster is an iconic guitar famously associated with George Harrison of The Beatles. It was first created as a prototype by Fender in 1968 and gained legendary status after Harrison played it during the "Let It Be" sessions and on the iconic rooftop concert in January 1969. This guitar, with its unique construction and rich tone, is a symbol of both innovation and musical history.
History of the Fender Rosewood Telecaster
- Prototype Design: Fender crafted the original Rosewood Telecaster as a prototype for George Harrison. The guitar was a collaboration between Fender designers Roger Rossmeisl and Philip Kubicki.
- Material: Unlike traditional Telecasters, the body was made entirely of rosewood—a dense, dark hardwood—paired with a thin layer of maple sandwiched between the rosewood top and back. This construction gave the guitar a unique tonal and aesthetic quality.
- Presentation to Harrison: Fender gifted the prototype to George Harrison in 1968, and it quickly became one of his most iconic instruments.
- Rooftop Concert: Harrison famously played the Rosewood Telecaster during The Beatles' last live performance on the roof of Apple Corps headquarters in London.
Key Features of the Fender Rosewood Telecaster
1. Body and Construction
- Body Material: Solid rosewood top and back, with a thin maple core for structural integrity and tonal balance.
- Finish: Satin or gloss finish that highlights the natural beauty of the rosewood grain.
- Weight: Rosewood is a dense wood, making the guitar heavier than traditional Telecasters, but this contributes to its sustain and resonance.
2. Neck and Fingerboard
- Neck Material: Solid rosewood neck, offering a smooth feel and warm tone.
- Fingerboard: Rosewood fingerboard with 21 vintage-style frets and dot inlays.
- Profile: Slim "C"-shaped neck for comfortable playability.
- Scale Length: Standard Fender 25.5-inch scale.
3. Electronics and Hardware
- Pickups: Equipped with two vintage-style single-coil Telecaster pickups, delivering the classic Tele twang with added warmth and depth from the rosewood construction.
-
Controls: Traditional Telecaster layout with:
- 3-way pickup selector switch
- Master volume and tone knobs
- Bridge: Vintage-style Telecaster bridge with three brass saddles for excellent sustain and intonation.
- Tuners: Fender vintage-style tuners for reliable tuning stability.
Tonal Characteristics
The Rosewood Telecaster has a unique tonal profile:
- Warm and Rich: The rosewood body and neck produce a warmer, darker tone compared to traditional ash or alder Telecasters.
- Enhanced Sustain: The dense rosewood construction contributes to long sustain and resonance.
- Articulate and Balanced: While warmer, the single-coil pickups retain the clarity and articulation that Telecasters are known for.
Reissues and Modern Versions
Fender has released several reissues and tributes to the original Rosewood Telecaster:
-

- Collectors: The Rosewood Telecaster is a rare and iconic piece of Fender history.
- Tone Enthusiasts: Ideal for players seeking a warmer, richer take on the classic Telecaster sound.
